When I received this gorgeous box from Bianca at Sweet N Salty by Design I almost squealed with delight. Pretty and pink, and smothered in little candies and crunchies and sweet drizzle! I have a sugar high just thinking about it again.
Bianca shared that from an early age, she was surrounded by creative women who taught her that you eat with your eyes first. Their wisdom clearly rubbed off on her because her confections are almost too pretty to eat. Almost. Because you should eat them. Really. They are so good.

I have a great recipe for chocolate chip cookies from Jaques Torres,that calls for sprinkling sea salt on top of the cookies before baking.The combination is just lucious!

Ritz crackers with peanut butter (chunky) and honey (or jam). Or raisins with peanut butter and salt. OR dulce de leche ice cream sprinkled with salt!
The Christmas season has certain foods associated with it, like hot cocoa, oranges stuck with cloves, and mulled apple cider. Cinnamon Roasted Almonds fill the house with aroma, my fave salty-sweet snack!
Caramel popcorn!
I stick with the classics peanut butter and honey sandwiches! For some reason I can only make these in half size versions. I think it tastes different when you have 2 pieces of bread instead of one folded in half – must have been a childhood trauma!
Salty and sweet…I like salted caramels or kettle corn best.
Hmmm…I really enjoy dark chocolate covered almonds or even peanuts. Oooh or a tasty chocolate malt with a side of salty french fries. Delicious!

Yum! Those pretzels look great! My favorite sweet-n-salty combo is a PB&J with potato chips in the middle. Wavy Lays work well. I really like that extra crunch from the chips.

I have two favorites. Chocolate covered pretzels and also a mixture of M&M’s and Cashews! They are the BEST!!

I’ve had several things over the years that were salty and sweet. I recently did a book review of a cookbook just about this. To be honest, my favorite must still be the first salty sweet I ever had: chocolate covered peanuts.
My husband dips pretzels every year for our holiday party but he does nothing as fancy as this. Of course, if I won this I’d do a full sensory review on The Chocolate in the hopes that my words could get as close to possible to sharing each bite with my readers.
These babies would be heaven right now! But, I usually kill my salt n sweet craving with homemade burgers on sweet Hawaiian bread

My favorite way to do sweet and salty is with a turtle sundae. Must have salty chopped pecans at the top. Mmmmm, that plus the hot fudge and caramel? Take me to heaven NOW!

I used to make a cookie mix called “The Potato Chip Cookie”..I’m sure everyone has heard of it. I’d add all the dry ingredients to a decorative jar and sell it at craft fairs. When baked, it was the most delicious cookie and I think that was because it had that sweet and salty enticement. That would be my favorite, The Potato Chip Cookie.

WOW. that is all i can really say. WOW you guys are NUTS. AMAZING sweet and salty NUTS. some of these combos are unreal!!! Makes my own favorite s&s combo (Parrano Cheese and Marmalade on crackers or toast) sound bo-ring.
