Duane Reade: haha, love it. All I’ve seen in these parts is Walgreens.
To answer your questions, the Delancey Street Foundation was founded in SF, but perhaps its namesake is NY’s Delancey St (like the community of immigrants who settled in the LES to start new lives, the newcomers to DSF seek a new beginning). When the DSF’s four-story complex was completed, SF city officials were so proud they renamed the block, Delancey St.

I should really write to H&H and inquire about that.

Is the Delancey Street Foundation also a NY transplant? Or is there a Delancey Street in SF too? I’m sure H&H will flash-freeze their bagels and FedEx them to your house if you’re ever in dire need and feeling agoraphobic.
