Friday Freebie: Dufflet Crackle Giveawayfeatured
Canada, eh? You’re so sweet with your maple leaves and your beavers. Your Wayne Gretzky perma-crush and your alcohol tolerance. Your Tim Hortons and your poutine. Your funny pronunciation of words like bahhhsil. Now, there’s another reason to love the Canadians: Dufflet’s Crackle (crack).
Dufflet Rosenberg, Toronto’s “Queen of Cake,” started professionally baking from her home in 1975. In 1982, she opened her legendary Queen Street Café, and has been delighting the city’s sweet tooth ever since.
Today, we are giving away a 3-box assortment of her Crackle. A twist on Florentine cookies, Dufflet’s Crackle feature toasted nuts encased in a thin sheet of Belgian chocolate. Utterly addictive – yes, like crack.
In particular, I’m a fiend for the Milk Chocolate Crackle with Toasted Hazelnuts. It’s the ideal sweet treat with a crumbly, crunchy texture that has you repeating to yourself, “just one more…”
Then, there’s the Bittersweet Chocolate Crackle with Toasted Almonds, which has a deep robust flavor. Still thin and crispy though, and bite-sized, so you feel like you’re indulging without all the guilt.
For a change of pace, try the non-chocolate Caramel Crackle with Almonds & Pistachios – thin shards of butterscotchy brittle.
To win, simply leave a comment here telling me: What’s your small indulgence in life?
Giveaway deadline is Thursday 11/25, 11:59 pm PST. (Contest is open to US and Canada residents only.)
Disclosure: This giveaway was made possible via free sample and giveaway donation by Dufflet.
