Poco Dolce Toffee Square Sampler
Not off my toffee kick yet! Poco Dolce brings a grown-up spin on the classic treat with flavors that are sophisticated and exceptional.
Their Toffee Square Sampler is comprised of four different flavors, each hand-cut into one inch squares and coated in bittersweet chocolate: Sea Salt, Burnt Caramel, Super Chile, and Double Shot Toffee.
Maybe it’s the glutton in me, but I love a good sampler. Because, really, life is too short to pick just one.
Not surprisingly, Poco Dolce took home the “Best Toffee” category at last year’s San Francisco International Chocolate Salon. Try some of these tempting flavors and see why:
- Sea Salt Toffee – This buttery toffee has an extra touch of sea salt to bring out and balance out the sweetness.
- Burnt Caramel Toffee – A deep, dark, caramelly flavor makes this a crowd pleaser. It’s a touch bitter…just enough so that if you have kiddies, they’ll keep their paws off.
- Super Chile Toffee – The unexpected heat in this toffee creeps up on you and coats your throat with a golden honey warmth. A perfect after-dinner treat to spice things up.
- Double Shot Toffee – Double the espresso, double the flavor. My personal favorite, the robust mocha flavor of this is utterly addictive.
Poco Dolce was established in 2003 by Kathy Wiley, and means “little sweet” in Italian. Their self-proclaimed mission is “to stay on the savory side of sweet.”

Hmm…I haven’t had that many “interesting” flavor experiences mixing savory nd sweet. The only one I can think of right now is a kind of brown sandy-textured (because of the cornmeal dominance) cookie that I helped a friend make, with salt sprinkled on top. They didn’t come out very well, but they tasted all right!
Thanks for the giveaway!
