Chinese New Year: Eye of the Tigerfeatured
February 14, 2010. Doily valentines, conversation hearts, and sugar-coated smooches, step aside. This year, you’ll have to share the spotlight with the Tiger. Rawrrr. {Cue firecrackers and those darned little Pop Pops the kids are still playing with.}
It’s the Year of the Tiger and on February 14th, the first day of the first lunar month in the Chinese calendar this year, the Tiger’s reign will begin. On New Year’s Eve, Asian families all over the world will be celebrating with a dinner feast.
As is customary in Chinese celebrations, food is of the utmost importance and various dishes have symbolic meanings.

Antoine Amrani Chocolates Giveawayfeatured
I sometimes judge a book by its cover.
When I caught sight of Antoine Amrani’s beautifully designed (not to mention carbon neutral, manufactured from wind energy, and made with 100% recycled material) boxes of chocolates, I was smitten by the modern, fun, and feminine sensibility of the chartreuse curlicues and espresso brown packaging. And, don’t even get me started on that vibrant, boho-chic, limited edition Valentine sleeve. Squeal! Had I fallen into a fabulous alternate universe where fine chocolate-meets-Anthropologie?
Judging from the elegant embossed logo on the cover, to the subtle reminder printed on the side that inside, a “superlative chocolate experience” awaited, it seemed that the contents had much to live up to.
Somewhat dubiously, I tasted one of the jewel-like bon bons inside, and with great pleasure, noted, this is no superficial fluke. Inside and out, Antoine Amrani Chocolates are a masterpiece.
