Thanksgiving Favoritesfeatured
Can you believe that Thanksgiving is only two weeks away? There is butter to stock up on, a bird to order, and calories to pre-emptively burn.
Here are a few of my tried-and-true Thanksgiving favorites to get you in the mood:
1. Orange and Ginger Spiced Cranberry Sauce
I made this cranberry sauce last year and I think it’s safe to say that it will be making an appearance on my Thanksgiving table for the foreseeable future. The sweet tart cranberries are accented with orange, ginger, and warm spices….and I have it on good authority that a glug (or two) of bourbon in this is fantastic.
Sausage, sage, pecans, and sage cornbread bring the flavor, but the form is brilliant too. Stuffing Balls! Genius. Forming Thanksgiving stuffing into single-serving portions ensures optimal crunchy-to-moist stuffing ratio. That’s right. No more fighting over the crispy bits.
Maybe not the most traditional dish…but once you taste this, it may just become a new tradition because everyone will ask for it again year after year. Insanely saucy, ooey, gooey, creamy, and cheesy, with a goldmine of crispy pancetta bits buried throughout. That’s what I’m talkin about.
This dish has fancified homey comfort written all over it. It’s made with roasted butternut squash, a touch of warm spices, and lots of love stirred in. Treat your family and friends to this cozy risotto, they will thank you. Trust me.
Everyone over-eats on Thanksgiving, but there is always room for pie, especially when that pie is filled with apples and salted caramel. I’ll bet my bottom dollar no one turns down a slice of that. If for some reason there is any left over, squirrel it away for breakfast the next morning. Now that’s a pro move.
